Biography by AllMovie

Italian opera diva Lina Cavalieri came to American screens on the heels of the legendary Geraldine Farrar, first in the British-made Manon Lescaut (1914), which co-starred her husband Lucien Moratore (1878 - 1954), then in the melodrama The Eternal Temptress (1917). There were a few more films to follow, but unlike Farrar, Cavalieri proved rather too theatrical for what really was an intimate medium. Cavalieri returned to the operatic stages after her brief fling with the movies, dying during a bombing raid on Florence in 1944.
