Singer and Utah native Megan Joy auditioned for the eighth season of American Idol with a Billie Holiday-esque rendition of "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man," and subsequently made it through to Hollywood. Thought Joy was initially cut after the fifth round, she was brought into the top 13 during the Wild Card round. In addition to her vocal work, Corkley has also spearheaded a fund-raising effort to assist single parents like herself.
