A veteran stage actor who had appeared opposite such leading actresses as Fanny Davenport and Blanche Bates, Marc Robbins (born Marcus B. Robbins) made his screen debut as a contract actor with Universal in 1915. A few years later, he was playing top supporting roles and at the same time, running the scenario department for the Fox West Coast company. In July 1919, however, Robbins made the mistake of allowing himself to be interviewed by a trade paper to whom he complained of what he considered the mismanagement of the company. William Fox had him fired immediately and he returned to being an actor for hire and penning the occasional screenplay on a freelance basis. Playing mostly men of social importance, Robbins later essayed several Oriental roles. He retired in the early '20s.
