biography
Léon Barsacqu was a distinguished art director of French films for over 30 years. Barsacqu was born in Crimea, Russia. He studied at the Paris School of Decorative Arts before working as an assistant decorator on his first French film in 1931. He continued assisting on films until 1938 when he became a full-fledged art director who became one of the premiere production designers in France.
