Biography by AllMovie

Kirsten Walther was a red-headed Danish supporting actress in minor comedic roles on stage and screen from 1957. Increasingly popular in satirical Danish television series, Walther became a true star portraying "Yvonne," Poul Bungaard's vacuous wife in the extremely popular heist-comedy series Olsen Banden. With her razor-sharp delivery of mainly nonsensical observations, Walther's "Yvonne" was the reason for the gang's continuous activity. It was she who constantly wanted to upgrade her home to match that of her sister in the suburbs, and it was "Yvonne's" never-ending preparations for a vacation in Spain that forced the "Olsen Gang" to plan yet another bullet-proof scheme that would somehow misfire. Walther honed her delivery to a perfect pitch, and when she suddenly, and shockingly, died of a heart attack, the entire country mourned her. A final "Olsen Gang" comedy was filmed in 1998, and her presence was sorely missed.
