Jimmy Aldine on AllMovie

A real life sailor, dark-haired Jimmy Aldine served on the ship that brought the Down to the Sea in Ships (1922) company to the Caribbean. Young Aldine was awarded a bit part in the whaling melodrama and went on to play similar roles in such watery melodramas as The Wreck of the Hesperus (1927). The neophyte actor, whose previous occupations included window trimmer and cotton goods salesman, left the screen shortly after the changeover to sound.
