biography
South African-born director Jamie Uys made his debut in 1965 with Dinkgaka, for Embassy Pictures. This was followed by After You, Comrade (1967), Lost in the Desert (1971), and the documentary Animals Are Beautiful People (1974). His biggest movie was the comedy The Gods Must Be Crazy (1979). He made a follow-up documentary Beautiful People II (1983), and in 1989 directed The Gods Must Be Crazy 2.
