biography
American silent-screen leading man Jack Donovan was an architect before making a somewhat auspicious screen debut as Lionel Belmore's son in the historical melodrama Milestones (1920). The Pathé organization later attempted to turn him into a western star but neither Hoof Marks (1927) nor Bullet Mark (1928) did the trick. Not a Thespian in any established sense, Jack Donovan was rather better known as the designer of several popular Hollywood eateries. He left the screen for good in 1934.
