biography
American actor Jack Buetel began performing on stage in his native Dallas at a community theater. Professionally he was an insurance clerk. He is best known for playing Billy the Kid in the controversial Howard Hughes film The Outlaw (1940). The film was censored and was not released to the public until 1950. During that time Buetel served in the Navy and did not appear in films again until the 1950s when he played a few parts in low-budget westerns.
