biography
A graduate of Carnegie Tech, dark-haired supporting actor Herbert Clark had appeared in such Broadway plays as My Son, The Patsy, and Excess Baggage when signed to a contract by Pathé, who was combing the stage for actors with "voices." Like so many other Hollywood-bound stage performers, Clark found early talkies a chore and quickly returned to Broadway.
