biography
A stout British character actor who had appeared on stage opposite the legendary Lillian Russell, Henry Hallam played in scores of Kalem one- and two-reel melodramas before gaining some prominence as one of Billie Burke's suitors in the 1915 serial Gloria's Romance. Gray-haired and distinguished-looking, Hallam went on to play mostly men of stature (e.g., military officers, clergy, industrialists, etc.). He was ideally cast as Sir John in Theda Bara's Kathleen Mavourneen (1919) and as General Kendrick in The Heart of Maryland (1921).
