biography
A pretty blonde leading lady of Knickerbocker Star three-reel melodramas such as Mismates (1916) and Spell of the Knife (1916), Margaret Landis later gained notice opposite Mary Pickford in Amarilly of Clothes-Line Alley (1918) and Florence Vidor in Alice Adams (1923). In both films, she portrayed rich girls snubbing the poor protaginist. Landis was the wife of director Bertram Bracken and the sister of minor leading man of the 1920s Cullen Landis.
