Henry Cronjager Jr. was the son of pioneering movie photographer Henry Cronjager, and the brother of cinematographer Edward Cronjager. He was born in 1906 and entered the movie industry in the 1930s, working as an assistant cameraman and camera operator on numerous movies (including Western Union, photographed by his brother) before becoming a director of photography. His work encompassed many low-budget movies, independent films, and television productions, including the horror film Hands of a Stranger, the series The Guns of Will Sonnett, and the critically well-received made-for-television movie The Ballad of Andy Crocker, starring Lee Majors.
