Biography by AllMovie

A busy silent screen actor/comedian, Harry Rattenbury had been on the stage since 1879, mainly in comic operas such as The Chorus Lady, with which he toured for more than a year. Onscreen from the early 1910s, Rattenbury appeared with Keystone, Rolin, Christie, and many lesser slapstick factories, and played strong supporting roles in such non-comedies as the serial Lucille Love, Girl of Mystery (1914), an early version of Oliver Twist (1914; as Mr. Bumble), the still extant '49-'17 (1917), and Huckleberry Finn (1920).
