Gloria Gresham on AllMovie

Costume designer Gloria Gresham has worked on numerous feature films of the 1980s and 1990s. She received training via scholarship in costume design at Indiana University and while assisting some of New York's most famous theatrical costume designers. She started out in film assisting Broadway costumer Tony Walton on the screen version of The Wiz (1978). She worked alone for the first time on Urban Cowboy (1978). Gresham specializes in contemporary apparel and has worked several times with director Barry Levinson on such films as The Natural and Sphere (1998). Gresham was nominated for an Oscar for her work on Levinson's Avalon (1990).
