biography
While serving with the American occupation forces in Italy in WWII, stage actor Gar Moore was discovered for films by director Roberto Rosselini, who cast him in the "Roman" segment of Paisan (1948). This led to a Hollywood contract for Moore, who spent the next few years as a general purpose actor in such Universal-International productions as Johnny Stool Pigeon and Abbott & Costello Meet the Killer: Boris Karloff (both 1949). Thereafter, he occasionally popped up in low-budget horror films bearing titles like The Curse of the Faceless Man (1958). Gar Moore was at one time married to actress Nancy Walker.
