A brunette screen femme fatale from Pennsylvania, Frankie Mann (aka Frances Mann) spent a couple of years with Philadelphia stock companies before making her screen debut for the local Lubin Mfg. Company. Usually a supporting player and almost always quite mean to the heroine, Mann appeared in films with titles such as The Gypsy Trail (1915), The Sex Lure (1916), and The Root of Evil (1919), before replacing Pearl White in the Pathé serial Trailed By Three (1920). Her leading man was Stuart Holmes, he of the florid mustache and debonair airs, and although they made a fine team the serial was not very popular. Less busy in the 1920s, Mann continued playing femme fatales until at least 1925. She was married to actors Donald Hall and Murdock Pemberton.
