Biography by AllMovie

Pronounced "the most beautiful girl in the world" by no less an authority than Florenz Ziegfeld, brunette Evelyn Pierce danced around the calf in Cecil B. DeMille's The Ten Commandments (1923). She eventually got a contract with Metro and was voted a 1925 Wampas Baby Star, but Pierce's sole screen career was spent in B-Westerns with Fred Humes and as one of Rin Tin Tin's many forgettable leading ladies. To conquer sound, she played in stock with her husband Robert Allen, but as Allen's own screen career took an upswing, Evelyn settled into becoming a housewife. Robert Allen's stint as a singing cowboy did not survive the 1930s, however, and the couple turned their attentions to real-estate dealing, eventually retiring to a Georgian mansion on New York's Long Island.
