biography
A heavyset character actor, Edwards Davis (born Cader Edwards Davis) had been a minister prior to entering the stage in 1900. Onscreen from 1915, Davis almost always played bounders or the "other man," several times opposite his wife, actress Jule Power. In the '20s, the now veteran actor was increasingly seen as authority figures, ministers, noblemen, politicians, and the like. He continued his screen career after the changeover to sound but mainly in bit roles.
