biography
British supporting actor Dick Bentley was well known for his work on radio and on British variety shows. Bentley's many feature films include Desert Mice (1960), The Golden Rabbit (1962), and The Adventures of Barry McKenzie (1972). Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Bentley launched his career as a singer, but turned to acting on stage in 1929, before coming to England at the end of the following year. For many years, he starred on the BBC radio program Gently, Bentley.
