biography
Obese American teenage comic Dee Lampton is only remembered as the candy-throwing kid in Chaplin's 1915 farce A Night in the Show. Already a veteran of the vaudeville stage at age 17, Lampton later worked in Harold Lloyd's Lonesome Luke series for producer Hal Roach, who then starred the "Fatty" Arbuckle look-alike in two-reel comedies of his own -- the Skinny Lampton series (1917). Lampton, whose weight got completely out of control near the end of his life, died from pneumonia at the young age of 21.
