A journalist by trade, David Mills found success writing for papers like The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, and The Washington Post, where he gained notoriety for publishing provocative and sometimes controversial interviews with celebrities. Additionally, Mills cultivated a career in screenwriting, co-creating shows like Homicide: Life on the Street and NYPD Blue, and penning episodes for series like ER and The Wire. He also helped write and produce the miniseries Kingpin for NBC and the HBO drama Treme. Mills' life was cut short in March 2010 when he died of a brain aneurysm at the age of 49.
