biography
On stage from early childhood, Charles Eaton played Wallace Reid as a child in Forever (1922), the first screen version of Sir Gerald Du Maurier's 1891 play Peter Ibbetson. A popular stage juvenile in the mid-'20s, Eaton was back in films after the advent of sound, starring opposite Helen Twelvetrees as the correspondence-school detective in The Ghost Talks (1929) and as Marguerite Churchill's brother in the domestic comedy Harmony at Home (1930). Stardom proved fleeting, however, and by 1934 he was playing the heroine's brother in Enlighten Thy Daughter, a low-budget New York-lensed exploitation melodrama. Eaton was the brother of Broadway star Mary Eaton.
