biography
A child actor and stock company juvenile, Charles E. Bartlett entered films with Bison in 1913. By the mid-1910s, he was directing Cub comedies and later guided action star William Russell through some of his more popular vehicles. Bartlett continued to helm vigorous outdoor melodramas through the mid-'20s but retired prior to sound.
