biography
American actress Sue Carol was born Evelyn Lederer to a wealthy Chicago family. Because of her social prominence, she was exceptionally well-treated in Hollywood where she landed leading roles in films during the late '20s and early '30s. She usually played exuberant flappers. Following her marriage to actor Nick Stuart, she retired. She later became a talent agent, and discovered Alan Ladd, the actor who became her fourth husband in 1942.
