Biography by AllMovie

One of Hollywood's many freckled enfants terribles of the 1920s, Irish-flavored Mickey Bennett (sometimes given as Little Mickey Bennett) is probably best remembered for playing W.C. Fields' nasty son in It's the Old Army Game (1926) and as the Bad Boy in Tillie's Punctured Romance (1928), again with the long-suffering Fields. By the time of Army Game's partial remake, It's a Gift, Bennett had outgrown the role of Fields' awful offspring (Tommy Bupp was cast instead), but the comedian remembered him and found a bit for him in Man on the Flying Trapeze (1935). It was his final screen role. His death in 1950 was attributed to a heart attack.
