biography
A former principal dancer with the Royal Ballet and the American Ballet theater, Anthony Dowell also occasionally appeared in feature films. He made his debut in the ballet version of Romeo and Juliet in 1966. Other appearances include Valentino (1977) in which he played the great dancer Nijinsky.
