biography
One of those charming quirks of the late '30s, Universal's star toddler Baby Sandy enjoyed a brief but highly lucrative screen career that tends to puzzle classic movie fans. Born Alexandra Lee Henville, Baby Sandy enjoyed above-title billing in a series of low-budget but fairly amusing comedies, in which the toddler remained totally unaffected and, despite allusions to Shirley Temple, quite untalented. She quit while still ahead at the ripe old age of five.
