biography
Entering the British film industry in 1952, Alan Marshall graduated to the big leagues in 1975 when he formed a production company with Broadway producer Alan Parker. Marshall's first producer's credit appeared on 1976's Bugsy Malone. Two years later, he received an Academy Award nomination for Midnight Express (1978). Since that time, Marshall has produced such cult favorites as Fame (1980) and Pink Floyd: The Wall (1981), and such box-office bonanzas as Basic Instinct (1992) and Cliffhanger (1993).
